His views on the solar system made him frontally confront the powerful ecclesiastical authorities. Based on a play by Bertolt Brecht, "Galileo " is a complete look at the nature of creation, a portrait that examines the responsibilities of both the creator and the authorities contrasting with a gentleman's battle against conventional wisdom. This movie is part of the Galileo trilogy (1968, 1975, 2011).
