MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1974 film?

Adapted from the novel by Clarin, who narrates the vicissitudes of Ana lets and squalor of life in Gotham, a city in the northern provinces of Spain. The teenager Ana, married to a retired regent, live oppressed by provincial hypocrisy and fears absorbent mystical religion. Sexually unsatisfied, beset by constant wet dreams, revealed in his intimate confessional torments, and his confessor, The Master, begins to feel a morbid passion for it. Meanwhile, Alvaro Mesia, a ladies' man, intends to seduce her. The city expects pleased the fall of The Regent.
