The projectionists had to choose how to combine the movies, what soundtrack moves left active and what and when, somehow becoming co -authors of a work mutant. "Chelsea Girls" ? Closest ever was Warhol narrative cinema ? can be seen today as an anthropological document about the legendary New York underground scene of the time. Powered by Jonas Mekas, Warhol plunged into the bohemian hotel in Manhattan and recorded Twelve Stories, or more precisely, " now ", as if spying by the keyhole, pushed to limits the conception of cinema as voyeuristic act.
