Er hat das Zeug zum Profi-Basketballer und sein zwölf Jahre älterer Bruder Georg kann sich für Vinz' Leben nichts Besseres vorstellen. Seine eigene Basketballkarriere scheiterte schließlich vor zehn Jahren nach dem tragischen Tod der Eltern an den privaten Belastungen. Jetzt soll Vinz nachholen, was Georg damals verwehrt blieb. Aber will Vinz das überhaupt? Schon seit Monaten bewirbt er sich heimlich um ein Stipendium in den USA, obwohl ihm die Vorstellung, seine beiden alten Freunde Samy und Ali zurückzulassen, schwer fällt.
