Behçet, a young idealist and nationalist Turkish, son of a wealthy and influential landowner, falls in love with Elena, a young Greek who is exposed to prostitution by her own grandmother who, in turn, was also prostitute. The love between the Turkish and Greek will be surprised by the outbreak of violence that extremists and Turkish nationalists carried out against the Greek community of Constantinople during the first days of September.
