MOVIE SYNOPSIS: You can watch RR, full movie on FULLTV - Viewed as a critical need visual destructive legacy of the railroads in the American landscape, or as a wonderful montage that even pays tribute to the captivating beauty of moving trains, RR could be the last word on American railroads. True to Benning's long career as one of the leading exponents of experimental film and also structuralist fascinated with the processes of the earth, the sky and the time the film piece is fixed flat 43 freight trains and passenger. Usually in vast rural regions and always during the day Benning planes trains take from a lot of angles: from images in the foreground to long shots that recall The Iron Horse John Ford and Terrence glory days Malick. The trains are becoming more modern, and in some planes seem long ribbons of a white solid. While many previous films Benning are made from long shots, here the duration of each level is determined by the progress of each train as it moves toward the camera, and then, out of field. This has a unique effect, which is to be a close replica of what one would see and hear while patiently seen a train pass, thus reviving rural American pastime.
