Chris Ferris, a wealthy farmer, was strongly opposed to hydraulic mining, a new method developed in the 70s, during the gold rush, because it is flooding the most prosperous farmland in the region. Although the position of Ferris, Jared Whitney, a mining engineer from the East, not only does the son of Colonel companion, but also falls in love with Serena, the beautiful daughter Ferris.
