The object of conflict were the salmon fishing rights of Mi'gmaq. Because salmon has traditionally been a source of food and income for these people, the Quebec government's decision to restrict fishing aroused consternation and anger among the Indians. The film provides a historical perspective on this issue, documents, news, photographs and interviews.
