MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 2000 film?

You can watch La seconda ombra, full movie on FULLTV - The film tells the story of Franco Basaglia, director of the Gorizia asylum and promoter of the law that bears his name, which revolutionized the concept of the mentally ill. As a messenger boy, the new director of the Gorizia asylum realizes the conditions in which the patients live in the asylum. Between electroshock, lobotomies, straitjackets, beatings and seclusion, the mentally ill live in a gruesome situation. Once he becomes director, he manages to change the role of doctors and nurses and improve the living conditions of the patients. He will use the large garden of the hospital, previously forbidden to the patients, for walks and outdoor lunches. He will propose the demolition of the wall that divides the patients from the rest of society and this will happen.
