MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1980 film?

You can watch Palermo oder Wolfsburg, full movie on FULLTV - The first thing that draws attention is almost documentary austerity that Schroeter facing the initial part of the story, set in a small, impoverished village in Sicily. With non-professional interpreters and camera in hand ? ? In a style reminiscent of Pasolini ? ? Schroeter is giving a bucolic vision of the people and their land, their rites and traditions, yet it also points to the poverty and lack of work that pushes them to emigrate to Germany. Nicola's trip to Wolfsburg, where is located the Volkswagen car factory, begins the second part, extremely critical with German society, where Schroeter is gradually finding signs of indifference, violence and racism. The third and final part of Uprooting focuses on the judgment that Nicola is submitted, accused of murdering two men. Here, gradually peeling Schroeter be realistic tone that he brought to the first two parts of the film and uses operatic staging.
