Peter soon dies in a mysterious fire and two of his grandchildren, Sam and Frank, inherit his property on the condition of the old bear and cat caretaker Clinker Schuster. After Schuster is found dead in a basement, and diamonds Laxter family are missing. Louise aaparenta also dead, Peter Nurse, beaten to death with crutch Schuster.
