For 50 years the immense walls of Yosemite have caused explorers and adventurers abandonment of materialism by the risk and adrenaline height and granite. The protagonists of Yosemite developed a very bohemian lifestyle, living like vagabonds beatniks, fighting the National Park authorities and leading world riskier promotions. The torch has been passed between generations of climbers, including rivalries, tragedies and triumphs, until the art of climbing has exceeded the limits of imagination. This is the story of this insolent history: half a century of struggle against the law of gravity and the law of the land.
