The short was co-directed by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks. The latter was also the main animator cinematográgica piece in which according to references of the time worked for six months. Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising Iwerks worked as assistants. Although both were about to leave the Disney studio, as they had already signed a contract with Charles Mintz, Disney continued to work with while organizing his new studio Mintz.
